How to get to Ubatuba
There are many options to get to Ubatuba, of course it depends on where are you coming from.
1 - by bus
Coming from Rio de Janeiro city:
a) take a bus to Paraty, stop there for one or two days, then take a bus to Ubatuba board, from there another bus to Ubatuba city center;
b) take a bus to Taubaté and them take a bus directly to Ubatuba;
Coming from São Paulo city, or any São Paulo airport (GRU, CGH, VCP):
a) you have to reach Tietê bus station (Uber available) and from there get a bus, Litorânea company, to Ubatuba.
b) look, where you are, for transport options to Taubaté city, from Taubaté you have São José bus company, going straight to Ubatuba.
2 - by car
tip: while driving in Brazil use the app called Waze in your cellphone, for traffic informations.
Coming from Rio de Janeiro:
Certainly the best option is to take the Rio - Santos road (BR-101 plus SP-055) passing by Angra dos Reis and Paraty. Not because that's the fastest way, but because that's the most beautiful way to drive.
Another option is to drive trough Dutra (BR-116) road untill Taubaté then take Oswaldo Cruz (SP-125) untill Ubatuba. Be careful, the last 22km from Oswaldo Cruz road is a steep descend, so it's too long to use your breaks all the time, you have to keep your speed very low using first and second gear, and using breaks sometimes.
Coming from São Paulo:
The best option is to take Ayrton Sena (SP-070) road, continue on Carvalho Pinto (SP-70) untill Oswaldo Cruz (SP-125) and go straight to Ubatuba city center. Be careful, the last 22km from Oswaldo Cruz road is a steep descend, so it's too long to use your breaks all the time, you have to keep your speed very low using first and second gear, and using breaks sometimes.
3 - with a professional private driver
